Task

Brush seals play an important role in modern aircraft engines. Their behavior and efficiency can be examined at the ITS on a globally unique high-speed test bench. In order to carry out the tests, the integrity of the high-speed rotor must be guaranteed under all operating conditions.

A rotor made of a new type of material is to be used for future tests. The existing rotor concept must be revised to ensure that the tests can be carried out safely.
