GPPS Shanghai Technical Conference 2025

  • Date: 31.10.2025

From September 4 to 6, 2025, the annual conference of the Global Power and Propulsion Society (GPPS) took place in Shanghai, China. The event brought together scientists and industry representatives from all over the world to present their work and discuss current topics in turbomachinery engineering.

This year, the ITS was represented by Riko Haase, who presented a paper on the numerical investigation of the aerodynamics of an impingement effusion cooling geometry, which was carried out as part of a DFG project. The aim of the work is to gain an in-depth understanding of the complex flow processes. This should make it possible to make targeted improvements to the cooling system, which can make an important contribution to increasing the efficiency of the entire gas turbine. This increase in efficiency is in turn necessary in order to make future generations of gas turbines and engines even more sustainable and efficient.
