From June 16 to 20, 2025, the international turbomachinery community gathered in Memphis, USA, at ASME Turbo Expo 2025 - one of the world's leading conferences in the field of turbomachinery. The event brought together 2051 participants from industry and research to network, listen to 778 technical presentations and attend 62 tutorials on topics such as hydrogen, emission control, film cooling, additive manufacturing, rotor dynamics, etc. in the field of aviation and power generation.
This year, the ITS was represented by Dogan Bicat, Marius Egner and Marco Hahn with their own research contributions and by Prof. Sigmar Wittig. The focus of the ITS publications was on investigations into heat transfer and cooling methods in turbines. The new findings are intended to contribute to increasing the efficiency of gas turbines by deepening our understanding of aerothermal processes, enabling new cooling concepts and thus improving the performance and sustainability of future generations of engines.
