Experimental and Statistical Investigation of Heat Transfer in Brush Seal Rubbing

A brush seal is one of the high-performance and promising sealing systems due to its superior sealing performance and its flexible structure which minimizes mechanical damage from rotor-brush seal rubbing. ITS has experimentally investigated brush seal rubbing and its heat transfer phenomena for a long time. 

The main research topic is the influence of geometry parameters and operating parameters on heat generation due to brush seal rubbing and leakage mass flow rate. This topic provides the opportunity of dealing with an engine representative brush seal test rig, experimental investigation, and applying statistical analysis of the measured data.
