Abstract

In order to improve the designing process of aero-engine bearing chambers, existing correlations for the bearing chamber air flow are analyzed and linked to oil film measurements that were carried out with a high speed bearing chamber test rig. As a second aspect, the influence of different scavenge off-takes on the two-phase flow is discussed and ways to modify the scavenge efficiency are presented.
